In Loving Memory of Glenn Shealy
The Thrill of the Hill Fun Run will be held on Saturday, September 11th, 2021 in conjunction with the Town of Little Mountain’s Community Market and Cornhole Tournament. This fun, family oriented event consists of a uniquely challenging and scenic course that is sure to test participant’s speed and endurance. By participating in this event, you will be honoring the memory of former Race Director Glenn Shealy, who died in a tragic accident on May 17th, 2014, while supporting a non-profit organization, the Glenn Shealy Memorial Fund, which provides scholarships to deserving high school seniors pursuing further education. Since 2015, the Glenn Shealy Memorial Fund has awarded over $17,000 to local high school seniors.
The Thrill of the Hill Fun Run will be a 5k event and will start near Little Mountain Reunion Park at 8:00 am. This all paved route will loop around the Town of Little Mountain and take race/walk participants to the turnaround, at the top of the mountain. The top of Little Mountain is approximately 813 feet above sea level and is the highest point in the Midlands region of SC. The course route can be viewed at www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=539817.
Race shirts will be provided for participants that pre-register prior to August 20th. Post event refreshments will be provided. Please come join us for a morning of fun and great fellowship.
