Candidate Filing Period: A candidate filing period for Municipal Elections above will open at
noon on Friday, July 25th, 2025, and close at noon on Friday, August 8th, 2025.
Filing by Petition: Please submit your petitions by noon on ***Friday, July 18th, 2025*** as
required by City/Town ordinance.
Filing Locations: Newberry County Board of Voter Registration and Elections, 1872 Wilson
Road, Newberry, SC, 803-321-2121.
Filing Hours: Weekdays: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Filing Form: The Statement of Intention of Candidacy form required for filing is available in
the “Candidate Information” section of scVOTES.gov and at Newberry County Board of Voter
Registration and Elections office.
Filing Fee: Filing fees are paid at the time of filing by candidates seeking the nomination as
required by City/Town ordinance. Filing fee checks should be made payable to the appropriate
Municipality. FOR LITTLE MOUNTAIN, THE FILING FEE IS $50 FOR COUNCIL and $100 for MAYOR
State Ethics Filings: Candidates are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests and a
Campaign Disclosure online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov. Failure to
file these documents may result in a candidate fine but will not disqualify a candidate from the
election. Contact the State Ethics Commission for more information.
At 9:00 a.m. on the day of OR before the election, Tuesday, November 4th, 2025, the County
Board of Voter Registration and Elections will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return
envelopes at the County Voter Registration & Election office located at 1872 Wilson Road,
Newberry, SC.
On Thursday, November 6th, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. the Newberry County Board of Canvassers will
hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in the election. These
hearings will be held at the County Voter Registration & Election office located at 1872 Wilson
Road, Newberry, SC.
