Meeting Minutes – January 13, 2026

The Town of Little Mountain Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the Derrick Community Center.  Present for the meeting were Mayor Jana Jayroe, Council Members Marty Frick and Jillian Long, newly elected members Lane Attaway and Hannah Huffstetler.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm and Mayor Jayroe gave the invocation.

The oath of office was administered to Mayor Jana Jayroe and to Council Members Attaway and Huffstetler.  Council extended congratulations.

Council reviewed meeting minutes of the December 10, 2025, meeting.  A motion was made by Long and seconded by Frick to approve the minutes as presented.  A motion was received by Frick and seconded by Long to approve the minutes of the December 17, 2025, meeting.  Both motions were passed unanimously.

The financial report ending December 2025 was reviewed.  Frick motion to accept the report as information, Attaway seconded the motion and the motion carried.

In old business:

  • Construction at Reunion Park is progressing. Mayor Jayroe stated that contractors expect to be completed with the project in February. A PARD grant has been approved for $56,250 (State share $45,000, local share $11, 250.00) that will be used for playground equipment.
  • Significant progress has been made at the Rocky Branch Trailhead. There will be a meeting of the trail group on February 2 at the Derrick Community Center beginning at 6:30 pm to discuss next steps.
  • The phones at the Derrick Center are up and running with the hosted voice system. Spectrum has been notified and the final billing for them will be in January.
  • Several resumes have been received for the Town Clerk position. Council agreed to have work session on February 3 beginning at 6:30 pm at the Derrick Center.  Council will review resumes at that time. This will be an executive session.
  • The town clerk is waiting on quotes for the window washing at the Derrick Center.
  • The town clerk will meet with Mr. Lee on Friday regarding the maintenance list.

In other business, requests for reimbursement were approved for library supplies and new doorknobs for the old town hall required for fire inspection.

With no further business, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 pm.
