Mary Buntin is a candidate for the Little Mountain Town Council Seat 1. Mary and her family have lived in Little Mountain for three (3) years. The Buntin’s consider themselves the “caretakers” of 329 Church Street, formerly the home of Doug and Betsy Guice. Mary recalls hearing many stories about “Mrs. Betsy” and feels blessed to live in a home that has been filled with so much love throughout the years.
Mary was born in Milton, Florida and grew up in Winnsboro, SC. When her father was in the military, Mary lived at Williams Air Force Base, Arizona. This is where she met her husband, Brian. The Buntin’s moved home to South Carolina in 1990. Mary and Brian have been married for 42 years and have three children and two family dogs. Their oldest child, Shandi, a kindergarten teacher, lives in Chapin with husband Dan who works at VC Summer. The middle child, Heather is self employed and lives in West Virginia. The Buntin’s also have a son, Devin, who is an Eagle Scout and will graduate from Mid-Carolina High School this year.
Mary and Brian are both certified independent flooring inspectors providing data and information to flooring manufacturers and retailers. Brian also works with a local flooring business as a quality control and service manager.
Mary and Brian fell in love with Little Mountain several years ago while visiting and shopping in the local antique stores. They dreamed of living in Little Mountain and becoming a part of its history. Mary looks forward to meeting and serving the citizens of Little Mountain and it is her desire to keep Little Mountain a thriving and cozy community.
