Town of Little Mountain
Special Called Meeting – Executive Session – April 28, 2020
The Little Mountain Town Council met for a special meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Present for the meeting were Mayor Jana Jayroe, Council Members Marty Frick, Steve White, Charles Shealy and Melvin Bowers.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm.
Council Member Shealy made a motion to enter executive session and the motion was seconded by Frick. Motion carried.
The executive session ended at 7:11 pm.
Council Member Frick motioned to cancel the 2020 Little Mountain Reunion noting the abundance of caution and concern for the protection of our community regarding the spread of the Coronavirus. The motion was seconded by Council Member White. The motion carried 5-0.
Mayor Jayroe stated that a date for a public hearing will be set at the May 12 meeting of Council. The public hearing will be to discuss the rezoning of land parcel tax map number 697-4-4 from residential to neighborhood commercial. The rezoning is at the request of the Screaming Eagles Special Needs Athletics from Chapin, SC.
After a brief discussion, Frick motioned to allow the Little Mountain Fire Department to use Reunion Park for a Bar-B- Que Fund Raiser on May 22- 23. The conditions of the use include following the mandates for social distancing, drive through pick up for food only with no crowds or groups. There will be no charge for the use of the park for this event. The motion was seconded by Bowers. The motion carried 5-0.
With no further business, a motion was made by White to adjourn the meeting at 7:22 pm. The motion was seconded by Shealy and the meeting was adjourned.
